Background
Established in 1969 and headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, the Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world’s leading not-for-profit project management professional association, with over 220,000 members in over 120 countries world-wide.
Founded in 1985, PMI Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter represents the Ottawa Valley, Outaouais and Eastern Ontario Region with over 2700 members as of 2023.
In 2001 the PMI Board of Directors initiated strategic planning activities and from 2002 to 2004 developed and adopted a strategic framework. This is important in order to achieve PMI’s long-term vision for the future.
Aligned with the Project Management Institute (PMI), the PMI Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter has embraced a process which led to the completion of a long-range strategic plan for the Chapter. The process facilitated (a) PMI Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter’s identification of the future needs of members and customers, and (b) PMI Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter’s options for satisfying those needs.

Our purpose is to elevate the project management profession by uniting members, professional groups, and businesses. Our vision is to be the premier platform for project management in the Ottawa Valley, Outaouais, and Eastern Ontario region, recognized for our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth. We envision a future where our bilingual community thrives by adapting to the evolving demands of the project management discipline, setting a standard of excellence in alignment with PMI's strategic and forward-looking direction.
