The event is open to current PMI-OVOC members, PMI Members, Project Managers, and individuals interested in Project Management.

About the PMI-OVOC Kingston Branch

We are back!

It is an initiative to provide PMI-OVOC members from the KFLA region with local chapter benefits. The Kingston Branch will work as an extended arm of the PMI-OVOC to serve the members of the KFLA region. In addition to the chapter member benefits you are already entitled to; the Kingston Branch proposes holding a monthly event in a hybrid/in-person format. The events shall cover, a monthly event in a hybrid/in-person format. The events shall cover,

  • Guest Lectures
  • Networking Events
  • Mentorship Events
  • Hybrid option for attending the PMI-OVOC Events/Annual Symposium
  • And many more...

This initiative is our first step towards enhancing collaboration, networking, and innovation in the field of Project Management amongst the PMI members and non-members (prospective members) in the KFLA region.

Kingston Branch will work in coordination with PMI-OVOC to organize and promote chapter activities and events. More details to follow soon. We would like you to join us and share your thoughts, opinions, and ideas to develop and grow the Kingston Branch. Your role in this initiative will be vital to ensure that the current and future groups of Project Managers have a platform to learn and share their ideas and innovation to deliver their projects smoothly and efficiently. Make this a success, Your Support is needed!

Guest Lecture Information

 

Bryon McConnell is a Project Management practitioner, mentor, teacher, guide, and public speaker. He With bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering chemistry from Queen's University, Bryon has worked in the Canadian Coast Guard, at the Crown Corporation Defence Construction Canada, at NOR-EX Ice Engineering, at the Crown Corporation Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, and currently at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories where he is a Project Leader and Section Head for nuclear research and development projects. After 30 years of work, Bryon realized that people were frequently seeking him out for guidance, advice, and mentoring, and that he always had a ready stock of material to share from his own experiences and those he had observed. In early 2023 he launched the series "Rules for Project Management" to scale up his efforts.

Description:

After nearly 30 years of work experience Bryon has launched a series called "Rules for Project Management" which draws upon the lessons he has learned. The series is intended for an audience of:

a. Project Managers looking for guidance, and those willing to share their experiences.


b. Project Managers needing to earn Professional Development Units.


c. Those considering Project Management as a career, including students.
