Dendra is a Project Manager within the Kingston Health Sciences Centre PMO. She started with them in May of this year and received her PMP in March. Dendra worked as a research administrator before starting at KHSC, running research projects at the University of Toronto, Western University, and Queen's University, and sat as the Operations Manager for the Centre for Natural Products at Loyalist College. Dendra is located in Belleville ON, and enjoys hiking, golfing, and camping in the summer months.
Session Abstract:
Projects in healthcare come with a unique set of challenges and requirements. In this session, we will go explore a case study, where we will discuss some of the key competencies required for success and I will share some advice through lessons learned as a new project manager navigating this space.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the unique differences in healthcare projects, including funding models, reporting, and deliverables structure.
- Learn about how funding requirements can impact procurement and how this affects triple constraints.
- Understand how to navigate complex stakeholder environments and demonstrate EQ.
