Learning Outcomes
Participants will learn strategies for creating a trusting environment between themselves and their stakeholders and between stakeholders on a project. They'll practice applying concepts to scenarios, integrating theory into practice and developing communication skills that will drive collaboration.
Speaker Marie Hogan
Marie brings 15+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, economic development, and education, and previously serving as Vice-President of Business Development at the Leadership Institute, where she is expanding the Leadership Institute's programming to new regions of Canada, most notable through the Certification in Leadership and Management Skills, designed for the realities and managers and executives.
Also, Marie held roles such as Director of Business Development at Mitacs, a national not-for-profit that drives innovation partnerships between industry, academia, and the world, where she led the development, negotiation, structuring and scoping of thousands of strategic partnerships between major Canadian innovation ecosystem stakeholders, such as companies, community organizations, economic development supports, government, and academic institutions in order to support Canadian productivity. One of her key achievements was leading a strategic MOU with Canada's Ocean Supercluster, in which she developed and delivered on a national Oceans talent strategy to build the R&D talent pipeline for Oceans innovators in partnerships with key stakeholders across the country.
With a background in education and training, a Master of Post-Secondary Education focused on transitions from school-to-work, a trained teacher with a Bachelor of Education with teachables in Social Studies, French, and a self-directed teachable in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and an early career leading and facilitating teams and events from 25 to over 500 within Post-Secondary institutions, Marie is known for her expertise in the soft skills that drive people engagement, skill mastery, and high-performing teams.
Marie is passionate about helping people leaders and collaborators capture the brilliance of their teams and create safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environments using a people-first approach, and often delivers workshops and talks in this space.
Marie's work has impacted the capacity for collaboration in Canada, and she remains committed to fostering a people-centric approach to partnerships, projects, team building, and leadership.
